kale blueberry smoothie

I sneak in lots of good stuff in the smoothies . . .
Sahara doesn't even object although she emphatically declares her dislike of kale.

The one you see here was composed of:
one ripe banana
a small handful of frozen blueberry
2 leaves of ripped up kale
1 tsp ground flax seeds
enough rice milk to cover it all

zroom zroom goes the handheld blender and gulp gulp spill spill mess mess mmmmmmm

Lydia's favorite word of the week is "Sahara" with the soft a. If you turn on audio, you'll hear it.

And for your greater reading pleasure here are two short stories as dictated by the eldest daughter:

Once there was a little girl. She was walking in the nighttime sky when suddenly she felt a breeze and it was her daddy. Love, Sahara

Once upon a time there was a little girl. It was crispy outside and there was her brother and her mama and her papa. The brother was named In-misha-flying and the sister was named Penguin. Even though she was not a penguin she loved penguin stuff. Her mama and papa were named Musha and Kusha. One day in the crispy years she loved to go outside and pick apples, but this crispy year she crept outside and there were no apples and suddenly there was a (sound effect). A big butterfly flew gently over her and she slept all night and then it was morning.

Sahara asks for stickers every day now. I took her to Michael's one day and let her choose out some princess stickers. Hmmmmm... It was a sheet of them, Disney style. She thoughtfully placed each one on individual pieces of paper. Then, with her watercolors, she painted a picture around the princess. These have been gifted to various friends over the past few days. It is time to get more she informed me first thing this morning.
She also gets stickers at most grocery stores and when we swing by the bank. Retailers know how to draw the youngest of shoppers. "Would you like a sticker?" they ask as she stands on her tippy-toes in anticipation. Those stickers go on the back of her hand. Sometimes she asks me if I like her sticker, and when I reply "Yes. It is lovely." she says "Here Mom, you can have it."
This morning, with Sahara at a friend's house, Lydia found a small sheet of heart stickers that I was using as a bookmark. This is what she did with the one she pulled off.
Her new favorite word is "caca."

This morning she touched the unplugged fan in her room and said "ciudado" which means: be careful.
